Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

The SDET will work in customer focused agile squads who will bring knowledge and some of the following technologies, as these are used across the stack: AWS cloud platform, SalesForce, REST web services, Oracle database, Docker, XML/JSON, Selenium, Cucumber. This role requires a software engineering background, an automation first mindset, excellent programming skills in a modern programming language (predominantly in JAVA) and hands on experience with common back-end and front-end test automation frameworks, and integrating these into the continuous deployment pipeline. 

Key Job Functions

  • Creating, reviewing and executing test cases based on business requirements 
  • Developing, maintaining and executing automated tests using Selenium/JAVA based framework 
  • Testing dashboards end to end from data sourcing through user interface 
  • Documenting results of test cases based on system requirements, functional and technical specifications 
  • Ensuring software meets intended user requirements and user scenarios 
  • Reporting defects and document issues as required in JIRA 
  • Assisting development team in triage and resolution of defects 
  • Performing re-test of defects and review test results 
  • Developing, maintaining and executing automated tests 
  • Working with data team to help populate and/or create test data in the test environment 
  • Work side-by-side with end users to validate requirements and resolve conflicts 


  • 2-3  years of related experience in testing projects in an Agile framework with strong understanding of the software development lifecycle 
  • 2-3 years’ experience with manual testing and related processes 
  • 2-3 years’ experience with automated testing and automation testing software (Selenium, REST) 
  • Experience with data and analytics applications (ie Power BI, Oracle) 
  • Experience with collaboration software (JIRA) 
  • Intellectually curious; seeks out opportunities to expand professional knowledge and network; funnels found knowledge into continuous process improvement activity 
  • Team oriented; collaborates well with team members as well as customers 
  • Can easily shift focus between high priority tasks as required 
  • Proven ability to learn new business concepts and skills quickly 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
  • Strong attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook) 
  • US Citizen 


Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.

Minimum Experience

2-3 years of related experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with the mortgage industry to include working knowledge of mortgage data. 
  • Experience with the Agile software development methodology. 
  • Experience with SalesForce platform
