Phoenix Backstory

Initially formed in 2015, PhoenixTeam was created by four friends with a long work history together. The creation of Phoenix was a return to our roots, and the realization of a 15-year goal to build a business and team to deliver value at scale for our federal and commercial clients. We envisioned a company that put its team members first. A place where independent thought, growth and learning was paramount and a space where creativity, openness and empathy was celebrated and encouraged. This vision remains at the forefront of all things (and believe us, we check each other and ourselves when things get hectic), because that is truly what makes us unique and differentiates us from other companies.

Team Member Spotlight

The best part of Kris’s job is the variety in his work. Each day may bring a new challenge and he loves that. He also loves working from home and how it helps keep his work/life balance in check. Kris’s son and daughter are both college students. His advice to them, “Find your passion and then see what careers align with that passion. Your job will just be a job if you don’t love it, but if you are passionate about it, it becomes a part of who you are.” If you ask Kris the best way to cook a filet mignon, he will tell you, hands down, in a cast iron skillet. During the pandemic Kris took the opportunity and dove into cooking. Along the way he found a few great recipes that he has filed away for safekeeping.

My favorite thing about PhoenixTeam is the people. People here are smart, outgoing, collaborative, inclusive and genuine. There is a sense of being a part of something bigger than yourself.
